cultivation of grapes and citrus fruit in
Punjab.

Economics.
Master of Business Administration from Kurukshetra
University.
Political career: Twice elected as member of
All India Congress Committee
from
Punjab.
He
actively led campaigns over public welfare issues.
Sunil
Jakhar successfully contested Punjab Vidhan Sabha elections in 2002.He
was Parliamentary Secretary in the State Govt. from 2004 to 2007.He was
re-elected as MLA from Abohar Constituency in 2007
and again in the
recent elections of 2012.During his tenure as the Chairman of the Congress
Party's Flagship Programs Monitoring Committee , has played an active role in
the Punjab Vidhan Sabha by
bringing to light:the kerosene (PDS) scam,the wheat seed subsidy scam, the malpractices in
implementation of Central govt funded welfare schemes.
